STM Take

The 2025 #43 (tier 8) rookie finish is fine for a 4th-round receiving specialist behind a tier-3 starter (Joe Mixon). Wk 19's 17.2 PPR and Wk 14's 15.6 show the ceiling when Mixon misses time, but the consistent sub-9 PPR floor (six of eight weeks under 9) is the realistic baseline for the role. He is a Mixon handcuff with passing-down standalone value.

Marks came out of USC (after transferring from Mississippi State) as Houston's 4th-round pick (116th overall) in 2025 after a five-year college career that produced 261 career receptions, the most by an FBS running back in the past decade. At 5'10" and 213 pounds, he is undersized for an every-down workload but plays a passing-down specialist role that fits perfectly behind Joe Mixon. His rookie 2025 saw him integrated as the third-down back, with occasional early-down work when Mixon needed rest.

Strengths

  • 261 career college receptions, the most by an FBS RB in the past decade, makes him a genuinely separated passing-down specialist. The Houston offense leans heavily on RB receiving work.
  • Wk 19 (17.2 PPR) and Wk 14 (15.6) showed the ceiling when given a Mixon-absent workload. Age 23 leaves multiple years of development room.

Concerns

  • 5'10"/213 frame is undersized for any extended early-down workload, which caps his standalone fantasy ceiling unless Mixon is fully out.
  • Six of his last eight 2025 games scored under 9 PPR, including three sub-7 (6.8, 8.5, 4.8). That is depth-of-roster production until Mixon's status changes.

What to watch: Whether Houston commits to him as the clear passing-down back for 2026 or splits third-down work, which would compress his ceiling further.
