STM Take
Barkley's drop from STTM #2 tier 1 in 2024 to #20 tier 5 in 2025 is the steepest fall in the top-20, the inverse of his 2024 historic season. The 2025 game log has positives (21 PPR Wk 16, 18 PPR Wk 14) but the rank says the OPOY year was the outlier, not the new baseline. The Super Bowl LIX ring and the 2024 records are permanent; the 2025 rank is the recalibration.
Barkley was born in The Bronx, attended Whitehall High in Pennsylvania, and was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year at Penn State. The Giants took him second overall in 2018, where he won Offensive Rookie of the Year. He signed with Philadelphia in 2024 and immediately won NFL Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Pro, the NFL rushing title (2,005 yards), and Super Bowl LIX, plus the Bert Bell Award. He owns the NFL records for single-season scrimmage yards (2,857) and single-season rushing yards (2,504) when combining regular season and postseason.
Strengths
- 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Pro, rushing title, and Super Bowl LIX champion; the resume now matches the all-time elite tier.
- Career 8,356 rushing yards through 2025 with the historic scrimmage and rushing single-season records.
Concerns
- 18-rank slide from 2024 to 2025; whatever the supporting cast or workload story is, the rank dropped sharply.
- Age 29 with a 350-plus touch year in 2024 already on the odometer; the historical cliff for RBs after 28-plus is well documented.
What to watch: Whether 2026 produces a rebound toward tier-2 or confirms the 2024 OPOY year as a single-season outlier.
