The prototype-built signal caller from Medina, Ohio arrived at Penn State as one of the nation's most coveted recruits, a five-star quarterback in the 2022 class, and his development has validated the hype. After setting Medina County records with over 9,000 passing yards and 98 touchdowns in high school - where he dominated his senior year by throwing for 4,444 yards and 48 touchdowns while also showing dual-threat mobility with 406 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, earning Ohio Mr. Football honors - Allar stepped into a backup role to Sean Clifford as a true freshman in 2022 before seizing the starting job in 2023. He completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 2,631 yards with 25 touchdowns against just 2 interceptions that season. His meteoric rise continued through 2024, where he showcased dramatic improvement in accuracy and decision-making while leading Penn State to its first Big Ten Championship game appearance since 2008, completing 66.5% of his passes for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns against 8 interceptions en route to a 13-3 record including a Fiesta Bowl victory over Boise State. The former five-star recruit made his biggest statement in a 391-yard passing performance against USC. What stands out most about Allar's development is his historic ball security, setting an FBS record with 311 attempts without an interception to start his career.
