STM Take

The 2024 #14 (tier 2) to 2025 #67 (tier 8) crash with the duplicate-row game log (Wks 16-19 alternating zeros with 5-19 PPR weeks) confirms the season ended on injury. The 11-year 1,000-yard streak (NFL record) plus a career 14,000+ receiving yards establish a Hall-of-Fame baseline. At 32 with the broken streak, the 2026 question is whether the body returns to even tier 4 territory.

Evans came out of Texas A&M as Tampa Bay's 1st-round pick (7th overall) in 2014 after a sophomore season with Johnny Manziel. He set the NFL record for consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons to start a career, hitting that milestone every year from 2014 through 2024 (11 straight). He won Super Bowl LV, made five Pro Bowls, and reached tier 1 (#7 in 2019) at his peak. The 2025 #67 (tier 8) finish broke the 1,000-yard streak and represents the steepest single-season decline of his career, almost certainly injury-driven given the game log pattern.

Strengths

  • NFL-record 11 consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons to start a career (2014-2024), five Pro Bowls, Super Bowl LV ring. Career 14,000+ receiving yards is Hall-of-Fame territory.
  • Wks 15-17 2025 produced 19.2, 14.1, and 12.1 PPR; the contested-catch ceiling remains intact when health and game script align.

Concerns

  • Crash from tier 2 (#14) in 2024 to tier 8 (#67) in 2025 is the worst single-season decline of his career. The 11-year 1,000-yard streak broke on this season's missed games.
  • At 32 with injury patterns now appearing late-season, the durability question is structural. Chris Godwin's status plus Emeka Egbuka's emergence compress the WR room.

What to watch: Whether Tampa Bay retains him for 2026 or whether the Buccaneers begin the post-Evans transition, because the 2025 sample says the streak-ending injury was a turning point.
