Career arc has been one of the most jagged at the position: tier 1 (#5) in 2019 plus Super Bowl LIII ring, then multiple injury-shortened seasons (tier 8 #61 in 2022 the bottom) before the 2023 tier 3 (#22) Patriots return. The 2025 Houston tier 4 (#28) at 33 is the late-career stop. With C.J. Stroud needing protection, Brown's 2026 role is veteran swing-tackle insurance.

Brown came out of Florida as San Francisco's 7th-round pick (244th overall) in 2015. He won Super Bowl LIII with New England as the starting LT after one season in Foxborough, then signed the (at the time) richest contract in OT history with Oakland in 2019 (4 years, $66M). He made the 2019 Pro Bowl. Multiple injury-shortened seasons in Las Vegas and New England preceded a 2023 second-stint Patriots tier 3 (#22) finish. Houston signed him as veteran depth for 2025; the tier 4 (#28) finish at age 33 reflects what 11 NFL seasons of high-mileage usage produces.

Strengths

Super Bowl LIII ring plus 2019 Pro Bowl with the Raiders plus tier 1 (#5) finishes in 2019 and 2021 confirms a real ceiling profile.
11 NFL seasons from a 7th-round pedigree is the rare longevity story. 2023 Patriots tier 3 (#22) finish at age 30 shows the technique still translates when health cooperates.

Concerns

Three career tier 8 finishes (#61 in 2022, plus multiple shortened seasons) due to injuries plus the documented weight management issues raise structural durability questions.
At 33 with 11 NFL seasons behind him and a wide-body frame that has worked hard to maintain, the 2026 trajectory is closing the book.
