STM Take

The 2025 #55 (tier 8) rookie finish is below where the 4.32 combine forty suggested, but the late-season usage (Wk 11 13.4 PPR, Wk 18 8.3) shows the role has standalone value. The negative-PPR Wk 14 and the sub-3 PPR Wks 10 and 12 are the failure mode when the offense doesn't engineer his touches. 2026 is the year Jacksonville decides if he is the long-term complement to Etienne or just a 2024-class miss.

Tuten came out of Virginia Tech as Jacksonville's 4th-round pick (104th overall) in 2025 after a 1,159-rushing-yard senior season that included a 4.32 forty at the combine. He transferred to Virginia Tech from North Carolina A&T as a graduate, posting 1,484 and 1,159 rushing yards in his two FBS seasons. At 5'9" and 206 pounds with elite straight-line speed, he profiles as a vertical-burst back rather than a power option. His 2025 rookie role was as the change-of-pace complement to Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby before the Bigsby midseason trade compressed the room.

Strengths

  • 4.32 combine forty is genuinely elite speed and unlocks a vertical-burst role most rookie backs cannot fill. Virginia Tech's 1,159 senior rushing yards on 5.7 yards per carry is a real production sample.
  • Wk 11 2025's 13.4 PPR and Wk 13's 8.9 show the spike-week ceiling when Jacksonville schemes him touches. Age 23 leaves multiple development years.

Concerns

  • Tier 8 rookie finish plus a negative-PPR Wk 14 confirms the production has been volume-driven rather than efficiency-driven.
  • Etienne re-established lead-back status after Bigsby's trade, which caps Tuten's 2026 ceiling unless an injury opens the workload.

What to watch: Whether his 2026 carry share clears 8 per game as the unquestioned change-of-pace back, or whether Jacksonville adds another body to the room.
