STM Take
The 2025 #16 with Arizona is his best STTM finish since 2019's #20 with Indianapolis, driven by a late-season starter stretch covering Kyler Murray. Eight straight Wk 11-18 games above 10 PPR is a real floor, but the underlying skill set has not changed: short and intermediate throws, ball protection, and no boom games to move teams forward. At 34 he is what he has always been, just with a slightly bigger window than usual.
Brissett came out of NC State as New England's 3rd-round pick (91st overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft after backing up Jimmy Garoppolo as a rookie. Indianapolis traded for him in 2017 and he started 30 games over two stints as the Colts' bridge before becoming a journeyman insurance arm: Miami in 2021, Cleveland in 2022, Washington in 2023, back to New England in 2024, and Arizona in 2025. He has started 55+ career games across six teams without ever holding a multi-year starter role. He plays a conservative, ball-control brand of football that has kept him employed deep into his 30s.
Strengths
- Eight consecutive games above 10 PPR to close 2025 shows a stable floor when given starter reps. His career interception rate under 2% is the structural reason teams keep calling.
- Tier 4 in 2025 is his highest finish since 2019, and the gap between his Indianapolis years and his Patriots/Dolphins stops shows offensive system and supporting cast move his number more than anything else.
Concerns
- His 2024 New England rank (#44, tier 8) and 2021 Miami rank (#40, tier 8) show how fast the floor collapses when the play-caller and supporting cast are weaker.
- Career yards per attempt in the high 6s caps the ceiling even in a clean situation. Arizona is not building around a 34-year-old bridge.
What to watch: Whether Murray's 2026 status forces another extended Brissett stretch, and whether his late-2025 YPG holds up across a full 17-game starter workload.
