The 2024 #22 (tier 3) finish was the outlier season; the 2025 #52 (tier 7) finish with full Aiyuk and Deebo presence is closer to the structural baseline. The 2025 game log is genuinely solid: Wks 15-19 produced 18.7, 18.1, 12.2, 7.5, 10.66 PPR, a five-game stretch averaging 13.4 PPR. He is a meaningful WR3 with one career year that may not repeat unless injuries reopen the room.

Jennings came out of Tennessee as San Francisco's 7th-round pick (217th overall) in 2020 after a college career that ended with him being kicked off the Vols team briefly for a critical video of head coach Jeremy Pruitt. He has spent his entire NFL career with the 49ers as a physical possession receiver, building a reputation for blocking, contested catches, and red-zone usage. The 2024 season was his breakout (tier 3 #22) when Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel missed extended time. The 2025 tier 7 #52 finish was the regression with the depth chart back to full health.

7th-round pedigree to five seasons of survival on a contending team is the rare developmental arc. Brock Purdy's trust in him (career receptions per target ratio) is above the depth-chart-pure baseline.

Concerns

Career arc shows the 2024 breakout was injury-driven for the room. With Aiyuk and Deebo healthy he settled back to tier 7 (#52) in 2025.
Tennessee dismissal in college plus turning 29 means the trade market is limited and the per-season contract value is unlikely to expand.
