STM Take

Three straight tier 8 finishes (#56, #50, #47) is the textbook profile of a 3rd-round investment that has not converted. The 2025 game log ends in Wk 7 (mostly sub-6 PPR even when he played), which is the now-familiar injury-compressed pattern. The 2026 question is whether he is even on the roster behind Kamara and the next backfield investment.

Miller came out of TCU as New Orleans's 3rd-round pick (71st overall) in 2023 after a 1,399-yard junior season that helped power the Horned Frogs to the College Football Playoff title game. At 6'0" and 215 pounds with sub-4.5 speed, he profiles as a downhill back with three-down upside. Three seasons into his NFL career he has not separated from clear depth-chart status behind Alvin Kamara, primarily due to recurring injuries (knee, MCL, hamstring across all three seasons).

Strengths

  • 1,399 rushing yards as a TCU junior on a CFP runner-up team is a real college production sample. 6'0"/215 with sub-4.5 speed is a starter-build athletic profile.
  • Wk 4 2025's 12.5 PPR is the only spike, but it shows the offense will use him when healthy and Kamara is limited.

Concerns

  • Three straight tier 8 finishes with declining game-log volume each year. His 2025 stopped in Wk 7, his 2024 was choppy, and his 2023 had multi-game absences. The injury floor is real, not noise.
  • Kamara's contract runs through 2026 and the Saints have invested in Devin Neal as a younger depth piece. The path to meaningful 2026 reps for Miller is narrow.

What to watch: Whether New Orleans cuts him before the season for cap space, given the third tier 8 finish in a row and the room getting younger.
