STM Take
Washington's climb from STTM #112 tier 8 as a rookie to #81 tier 8 to #20 tier 3 is the most dramatic three-year arc in this batch of top-20 WRs. The 2025 game log peaks at 26.5 PPR (Wk 16) and 23.9 PPR (Wk 19); the trajectory is loud. The 6th-round draft slot now looks like one of the best WR values from the 2023 class.
Washington was born in Starkville, Mississippi, attended Travis High in Pecan Grove, Texas, and played three years at Penn State leading all Big Ten freshmen in receptions, yards, and TDs as a true freshman. Jacksonville took him 185th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Career line is 106 catches for 1,369 yards and 10 TDs plus 3 return TDs across three seasons.
Strengths
- 61-rank improvement from 2024 to 2025; the largest year-over-year WR move on the board.
- Career 3 return TDs add a separate value vector that pure receivers in this range cannot match.
Concerns
- Pre-2025 sample is 38 career catches across two seasons; the 2025 jump is a single-year case.
- Trevor Lawrence's 2025 STTM #12 tier 3 is one good year against a four-year career of tier-8 finishes; QB sustainability is the limiter.
What to watch: Whether the 2025 breakout repeats with Lawrence's QB trajectory; a year-two tier-2 finish would validate the 6th-round pick as a true WR1 piece.
