The 2nd-round draft slot looks worse every year. From three quiet seasons in New England (career 459 yards across three years) to a tier 8 #65 in Kansas City confirms the speed-only profile has not added a route tree. Wk 5 2025's 12 PPR is the entire fantasy-relevant moment of his season. He is on the Chiefs roster purely because Andy Reid likes a sub-4.3 deep-shot option.
Thornton came out of Baylor as New England's 2nd-round pick (50th overall) in 2022 with a sub-4.3 forty that pushed his stock above his college production grade. His three Patriots seasons produced just 38 catches for 459 yards combined as the speed never translated to NFL separation. New England released him after the 2024 season, and Kansas City signed him as deep-bench speed insurance for Patrick Mahomes. The 2025 #65 (tier 8) finish marks his second career ranking after a tier 8 (#123) finish in 2023.
Strengths
