STM Take

Three straight finishes in the #26-#48 range (#26 in 2023, #32 in 2024, #48 in 2025) shows the role: clear WR2 behind Justin Jefferson, with tier 4-6 production depending on QB health and personal situation. The 2025 game log range from 0 PPR Wk 12 to 12.5 PPR Wk 17 is the Sam Darnold/JJ McCarthy variance compressing him. The 2026 trajectory depends on which QB starts and how Jefferson's target share evolves.

Addison came out of USC (after transferring from Pittsburgh) as Minnesota's 1st-round pick (23rd overall) in 2023. He had won the 2021 Biletnikoff Award at Pitt and added a 1,000-yard 2022 season at USC opposite Caleb Williams. His Vikings rookie 2023 produced 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, finishing tier 4 #26. The 2024 season trended similarly (#32 tier 4) with Justin Jefferson as the clear No. 1, then 2025 brought a tier 6 #48 regression with a 3-game suspension to start the year for a 2024 DUI plus an inconsistent QB room.

Strengths

  • 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner at Pitt plus 1,000-yard 2022 USC season with Caleb Williams is real college pedigree. Rookie 2023 produced 70/911/10 alongside Justin Jefferson.
  • Three straight 700+ receiving yard NFL seasons confirms baseline durability and target share. Tier 4 finishes in 2023 and 2024 are real WR2 production lines.

Concerns

  • The 2025 tier 6 regression (#48) plus the 3-game suspension is the wrong arc for a former 1st-round pick entering year 4. Career receiving yards average has dropped each season.
  • Behind Justin Jefferson he is permanently the WR2, which caps target volume. Wks 12 and 18 zero/sub-2 PPR games in 2025 show the floor when defenses bracket him.

What to watch: Whether his 2026 target share clears 7 per game with JJ McCarthy as the starter, the threshold he needs to return to tier 4 production.
